About Me

I am a senior at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. I am working to get a degree in Journalism with a minor in Public Relations. Right now, I’m working as the News Director and reporter for NAZ Today, which is Northern Arizona’s local news channel. It’s been an amazing experience so far, and I’ve tried out many different things, like weather forecasting, interviewing, putting together news packages and I have learned how to be a leader. It’s definitely helped me grow as a broadcaster and journalist.

Last year, I was the Lifestyle editor for The Lumberjack, NAU’s student newspaper, where I helped launch a new section for the first time. It was a great opportunity to work on the editorial side of things as opposed to writing, which I did for about two years.

I also spent time as the News Manager for KJACK Radio, which opened up an internship opportunity for me with KAFF Radio. That was a big step because I got to be a part of creating KAFF News Extra, the station’s first-ever broadcast news department.

Living in Flagstaff has taught me a lot about the importance of building and maintaining strong relationships with sources – especially in a small town. I really think that’s helped me become a more effective journalist overall.

When I’m not working or studying, I love to read, hike and grab coffee at one of Flagstaff's awesome local coffee shops.
